The TRIUMPH Mile is one of the most anticipated events leading up to the Bellin Run, capturing the true spirit of community and inclusion. As we reflect on the incredible moments from the TRIUMPH Mile and the Bellin Run, we’re reminded of the power of teamwork and the undeniable impact of myTEAM TRIUMPH.
The TRIUMPH Mile: A Heartwarming Kickoff to Bellin Run Weekend
The TRIUMPH Mile serves as a perfect prelude to the much-anticipated Bellin Run, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of unity and support. This event allows our Captains (athletes with disabilities) and Angels (volunteer runners) to experience a race day like no other. They grit out 1 mile, unassisted but supported. The participants showcase the importance of inclusion in sports.
From local news coverage to professional athletes at the finish line, the TRIUMPH Mile brought together families, friends, and supporters from all walks of life. You can watch the heartwarming video coverage here to get a sense of the excitement that filled the air.
A Day of Inspiration: The 49th Annual Bellin Run
The 49th Annual Bellin Run was an unforgettable experience for all involved, especially for the myTEAM TRIUMPH participants who had the chance to race side-by-side with their Angels. The Bellin Run, one of the largest 10K races in the region, reinforces the mission of disability inclusion in events.
For many, crossing the finish line is a moment of triumph, and it’s even more special when shared with myTEAM TRIUMPH. Here are some reflections from our participants, showcasing the true spirit of the Bellin Run:
"Lily enjoyed her first Bellin Run with myTEAM TRIUMPH. Thank you to the myTEAM TRIUMPH Team. We are so proud of Lily. Great Job!"
– Lily's Family

"My first Bellin Run with myTEAM TRIUMPH – Wisconsin Chapter was 6/11/22. Our Captain was Gavin, who was non-verbal and on the autism spectrum, but seemed to enjoy the race. As we crossed the finish line as a team, I remember being on cloud 9 and talking about our experiences when, all of a sudden, I feel someone give me a big hug. It was Gavin. Communication doesn’t always come easily for those on the spectrum, but Gavin made his feelings known loud and clear that day. I’ve been blessed to run with my boys and myTEAM TRIUMPH for the last 3 years. Thank you Bellin Run for the awesome memories!!"
– Angel Volunteer
"This will always remind me why I joined myTEAM TRIUMPH! This organization creates meaningful moments for everyone. Inclusion is everything!"
– Angel Volunteer

"My heart is so full! We had a great time at the TRIUMPH Mile with myTEAM TRIUMPH - Wisconsin Chapter! Being an angel over the last 6 years has been so fulfilling and humbling. I'm so thankful that the Lord has given me 40 years with two good legs, and I love using them to help my Captains across the line. PLEASE, if you've ever thought about doing something bigger than yourself, give mTT a try!"
– Angel Volunteer
