āA bit about me,
Iām 51 and started triathlons about 9 years ago. Iād quit smoking, lost some weight and was just trying to get fit.
I was really lucky to find a local club that had a lot of people help me get into the sport. It was fun, social and I found I enjoyed pushing myself through hard physical challenges.
Iāve done a bunch of triathlons, marathons, half marathons, 5ks and even rode my bike for 24 hours once.
In 2021 I did my 3rd Ironman and not knowing if or when Iād ever do it again I made a very concentrated effort to really be present in the moment and take it all in.
I was lucky enough to have a lot of support that day from Larissa and her girls and my daughter came and surprised me on the course. It was memorable. All I kept telling them afterward is that I wished they could see the race, the day, unfold from my point of view. Itās just special.
myTEAM Triumph gives me a chance to share that day, that event and all the emotions that go with it with someone else. To see the day unfold and experience it.
Nick is an inspiring guy and has such a great sense of humor. His laugh is absolutely contagious. Ironman is going to be hard. It always is. I just hope Iām up to getting him to the finish line.

My parents were really excited to learn about our being involved with MTT. My grandmother had polio when she was a young woman and was in a wheelchair most of her life. Long before accessibility and inclusion were a consideration.
My parents always made an effort to make sure my grandmother was included in things and able to experience things. She was pretty amazing.ā
