Promises To Keep is a year long effort by one man to honor the Wisconsin Soldiers who have fallen or were wounded during Iraq and Afghanistan wars

1. The Courage Festival (March 16th).  A kick-off event featuring speakers:

  1. Brian Gruender: Ironman Triathlete ran 135 miles from Kenosha to Appleton on March 17-18 to raise awareness and $10,000 for myTEAM TRIUMPH

  2. Roy Pirrung: Decorated Army Veteran, Ultra-marathon Champion

  3. Clarence Hartley: Two-time cancer survivor, Korea and Vietnam War Veteran. Decorated US Air Force Lt. Col, Ret.


  1. 2. Promises to Keep 135 (March 17-18th)  Brian Gruender lead a non-stop 135 mile Veteran’s American Flag carrying relay run with active and veteran service members from Kenosha to Appleton Wisconsin.


3. Promises To Keep 10K (March 18th)

  1. Service Member Honoring 10K run

  2. Start and finish took place at Fleet Feet Sports Fox Valley with speakers and events planned throughout the day including a Good Form Running Clinic Sponsored by New Balance

  3. The run completed the last 10K of the 135 mile journey

  4. Runners had the honor of joining active and veteran service members who pushed wounded veteran, Josh Guernsey in a specialized running chair through the streets of Appleton

  2. 5.Cellcom Green Bay Marathon - May 20th

  3. 6.Kettle Moraine 100 mile trail run - June 2nd

  4. 7.San Francisco Marathon 52.4 mile run - July 29th

  5. 8.Twin Peaks Ultra 50 mile trail run - October 13th

  6. 9.Door County Fall 50 - October 20th
